Are you in need of a chill night in watching movies?

You’ve come to the right place, check out our Top Dance Movies of All Time!

#5 Footloose

Footloose DVD

Footloose is one of our all-time favs.  Based in the 80’s, Ren McCormack (Kevin Bacon) moves to a small town where dancing and rock music have been outlawed.  This fun and energetic movie will make it hard for you to sit still and stay in your seat (I know you dancers know what I mean.  When the music is on, we have to move).

#4 Shall We Dance

Shall We Dance DVD

It’s #ThrowbackThursday dance style to Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers who show what real dancers can do! This story follows Pete Peters (Astaire), who is a ballet star, and Linda Keene (Rogers), who is a musical star, as they cross the Atlantic by ship to New York. By the time they reach the shore, there is a rumor circulating that the two are already married. Although the movie takes place in the 30s, this story could have been ripped from our own headlines today. Amazing movie that all dancers should see!

#3 Billy Elliot

Billy Elliot DVD

Billy Elliot reminds us why we love to dance. Billy is an 11-year-old boy trying to do the unthinkable—join a girls-only ballet class. His parents are embarrassed for him and want him to be a boxer. In order to dance, Billy must find the courage to believe in himself and go against what everyone else thinks is popular for boys. This movie shows that the love of dance conquers all.

#2 Step Up

Step Up DVD

Step Up gave us Channing Tatum…#boyfriendgoals. If that’s not enough for you, the dancing is amazing too. See Tyler (Tatum) get a second chance through dance. He was ordered to complete community service when he was caught vandalizing Maryland School of Arts. When Nora (Tatum’s real life wife, Jenna) sees Tyler dancing in the parking lot one day, she asks him to partner her in an upcoming competition. The dancing is first-rate, but the love story will keep you watching!

#1 Center Stage

Center Stage DVD

Center Stage has it all–incredible dancing, drama, and romance. Follow Jodi, Eva (Zoe Saldana), and Maureen as they follow their dreams to study at the American Ballet Academy. Each girl experiences hardships as she tries to get into the company of her dreams. It’s a must see for all dancers.

Don’t Miss These!
