5 Tips To Balance Dance And School
With Summer intensives wrapping up, and school right around the corner (depending on when you go back to school), it can be stressful trying to figure out how to balance everything. If you have late night dance classes, how will you get your homework done in time? With such a busy schedule, how will you make time for your friends and family? We got you covered! We’ve come up with a list of tips and tricks to help you balance your hectic schedule so you have time to breathe.
- Use your study hall/ free time
Not every school may have this, but if yours does, USE IT! This is a great time to get a head start on homework before you have to rush off to dance. You can also do this if you have free time at the end of class and your teacher is fine with you working on homework.
- Bring your dance bag to school or have it in the car.
Instead of running home to quickly throw on your dance clothes and risk being late, already have your dance clothes packed. This way, you can change right after school, or at the studio.
- Bring a snack and water.
Bring an actual snack to the studio. Please don’t find a vending machine and eat candy between classes. Trust us, the candy might taste good, but a protein bar or fruit is a better alternative to keep your energy up for your night of dance. Also, remember to DRINK WATER!
- Use your free time between classes.
You’ll probably have at least a half hour break at some point, or maybe another dance class is running late. Use that time to do homework, and maybe stretch a little too.
- Prepare the night before.
Instead of rushing around in the morning, pack your dance and school bag the night before. Remember, the more dance classes you take, the more free time you need to find.
Hopefully these tips and tricks will help you find time to do your homework. Then, as long as your homework is done, you can spend time with your friends and family! While school and dance may seem like a lot to balance, it is possible. As long as you practice time management, you’ll find free time in no time!
