7 Reasons To Dance Over The Summer
Summer’s here, so that means relaxing, sleeping in, and watching your favorite tv shows and movies all day right? Or maybe you’re new to dance but aren't ready to fully commit to a dance style for months? Either way, we got you covered! Here are a few reasons to take dance classes/intensives over the summer:
- It’s not a huge commitment
Remember, summer is only 2-3 months long. So if you don’t like the dance class(es) you’re taking, you’re not stuck for a whole year.
- Improve your flexibility
While not every style is focused on flexibility, some are. You can learn new stretches and get closer to your splits or touching your head to your toes.
- There’s a variety of styles
Not sure what style of dance you would like the best? Not a problem! Summer dance classes let you have a little taste of many styles without the feeling of being fully committed.
- Meeting new people
Even if you don’t meet your next BFF at dance class, chances are you still get to socialize. Besides, who doesn’t want more friends?
- Stay in shape
Dance is a great way to stay in shape over the summer. Why watch tv on the couch when you can express yourself through movement.
- Improve your technique
This one is more for seasoned dancers. Dance intensives are a great way to improve your skills and technique so you're ready to go for any and all future performances and competitions.
- It’s fun
Not every dance class is focused on performances and competitions. Some people choose to dance for fun and enjoy finding new ways to move their bodies.
Whether you’re a seasoned dancer or if you’re still on the fence about dance, hopefully you’re more inclined to take a dance class this summer.
