Can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
I started ballet when I was six years old. When I tried ballet for the first time, I immediately fell in love with ballet. I love the feeling of performing on stage and wearing beautiful tutus. I enjoy trying different variations and seeing my progress. Now I'm competing in different competitions and improving myself.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
It is definitely not easy. I have to work hard and always try my best in every practice. I can't just give up easily.
What personal limitations if any did you go through in your young career?
The last two months it hasn't been easy for me as I injured my leg. I couldn't practice my variation, and it was like something I love doing was taken away from me. Even though I couldn't practice the variation I still tried my best to stretch every day.
Has anybody ever tried to limit you on what you could do? If so how did you fight it?
No. Thankfully, I have my family, friends, and teachers to support me, and I am very thankful for them!
How do you conquer negative talk?
I try my best to ignore it and think positively.
What is your favorite quote?
“It does not matter how slowly you go as long as you do not stop.” - Confucius
So, what’s next? Any big plans?
I am excited to perform and also work on my variation.
