Can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
I started doing competition dancing when I was 2. I began doing ballet at 9 years old. I then transferred to Kansas City Ballet and joined the daytime program. I did that from 11-12. I moved to Texas when I turned 13, and I am now training at Elite Classical Coaching!
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
Things are not easy for me! I have a lot of hyperextension, and it is very hard to control. I have a hard time engaging my muscles, so I do exercises every night to help strengthen myself.
How do you conquer negative talk?
I don’t let it get to me!
What is your favorite quote?
“Don’t practice until you get it right, practice until you can’t get it wrong.” - Author Unknown
So, what’s next? Any big plans?
I have YAGP finals and ADC IBC finals.
