Can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
I started dance when I was 2 1/2. I did competitive dance for many years. I started ballet when I was 9, and I fell in love with it. I've been doing just ballet now for two years.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
Ballet is never complete, and you never know everything. So you have to be willing to know there’s always more to learn.
What personal limitations if any did you go through in your young career?
I’m always working on my feet and knees and getting my legs to extend and be straight.
Has anybody ever tried to limit you on what you could do? If so how did you fight it?
I think the best thing you can do is stay in your own lane. There will always be someone who has an opinion. That has nothing to do with me or my own limitations.
How do you conquer negative talk?
Don’t engage in negativity ever. There’s no time for that.
What is your favorite quote?
"When words fail, dance speaks." - Author Unknown
So, what’s next? Any big plans?
I’m working on my skills and my strength. Ballet is my passion. Right now, I’m just working on my class skills so I can apply them to my future.
