Can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
I started dancing when I was 3, and I’ve been dancing ever since. I’m starting my 6th year of competitive dance. My favorite genres of dance are contemporary, acro, and pointe. I started modeling about 2 years ago, and I love it. Recently I also added digital creator to my list. I love coming up with new ideas!
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
No, definitely not. I’m always working to improve in dance. I know I need to work on many things, and there will always be someone better. All you can do is practice, try hard and do the very best you can. Knowing you’ve done all you can and put everything out there is what matters.
What personal limitations if any did you go through in your young career?
I actually started my IG account because I was having a really hard time with eczema and my skin. I now have it under control - thankfully - but this account was kind of a way to escape the confidence issues I was feeling at the time. Everyone has an issue or a struggle over something, so we really need to be kind to each other.
Has anybody ever tried to limit you on what you could do? If so how did you fight it?
I do think I have been limited in the past. Luckily, my family is a great support group and looks out for me. I think if someone feels limited, they need to address it or remove themselves from the situation and find someplace that will help them shine.
How do you conquer negative talk?
I try not to listen to negative self-talk. It’s not healthy, and it doesn’t do any good. If I feel negative thoughts creeping in, I will talk with my mom or sister about it.
What is your favorite quote?
“The future belongs to those who believe in the beauty of their dreams.” - Eleanor Roosevelt
So, what’s next? Any big plans?
I’m working on some brand deals and hoping to get into more acting and possibly even some singing. I would love to become the face of a major makeup campaign, walk a runway, or dance in a music video.
