My name is Layla Goodwin, 13, and I dance at The Dance Ground PA.

Can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
I started dancing when I was 18 months, taking a mommy and me class, and I still have the same dance teachers today.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
No, because dance is one of those things where you have to constantly work hard in the studio and out.
What personal limitations if any did you go through in your young career?
I’ve always had to work hard to get more flexibility, as I still am today.
Has anybody ever tried to limit you on what you could do? If so how did you fight it?
Not necessarily a person, but COVID-19. When we got hit by Covid, I had to work my hardest by myself and take more classes outside of my studio.
How do you conquer negative talk?
I let it in one ear and out the other.
What is your favorite quote?
"If you can dream it, you can achieve it." - Zig Ziglar
So, what’s next? Any big plans?
I am excited because next week I get to fly out of state to do dancewear modeling.
