Can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
I started dance at the age of 4. But I did not go into the competitive program until I was 6. I have been a competitive dancer for 4 years now.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
Things did not come easy to me as a dancer. I am not naturally flexible, so I have had to work very hard to get my flexibility. I also started later on the team, so I have always felt I have had to play catch up.
How do you conquer negative talk?
I believe that you should always run your own race. So if there is ever negative talk around me, I tune it out.
What is your favorite quote?
"Always stay true to yourself and never let what somebody says distract you from your goals." - Michelle Obama
So, what’s next? Any big plans?
My plan is to be an amazing dancer and get into acting one day.
