Can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
I always loved to dance and everything princess, crown, tiaras, and most of all, ballet. I started when I was 4 years old back in Switzerland, where I was born. We moved to Chinchilla, Australia, and I kept on dancing in combination with gymnastics. 3 years later, we moved from Chinchilla to The Sunshine Coast. I improved in both quite fast, and the hours got too many for ballet and gymnastics to do both. It was no question for me to go with ballet. I made this decision when I was 9 years. I now train 25+ hours of ballet a week. I love it.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
It can be a lot and tiresome, but all worth it because it’s my passion and what I want to do.
It’s not easy, but it comes naturally when you love doing something so much.
What personal limitations if any did you go through in your young career?
Nothing really. But one thing is to grow through disappointment, keeping the head held high, and never to give up.
Has anybody ever tried to limit you on what you could do? If so how did you fight it?
No, I have a great support network.
How do you conquer negative talk?
I do meditation.
What is your favorite quote?
"You become what you believe." - Oprah Winfrey
So, what’s next? Any big plans?
I will be training with the Australian Ballet in their ITP program in 2022.
