How Do You Get Ready For Dance?
With dance classes starting up again, it can be hard to get back into a routine (unless you did intensives over the summer). So whether this is your first time taking dance classes, or you need to get back into your dance routine, we have compiled a list. We reached out to our dance community and asked how they get ready for dance. Here’s what they had to say:
- Drink a fruit smoothie
This sounds delicious.
- Do your hair in a bun
Make sure your bobby pins don’t poke you in the head.
- Dance at home
If your dance classes are online, you can take more time to get ready!
Those are great ways to get ready for ready for dance! In fact, we have a few extra.
- Have your dance bag packed
Try to have your dance bag packed the night before.
- Eat a snack and/or take one with you
You don’t want to be hungry while your dancing.
- Stretch
In case your dance class skips stretching, or you want to stretch a little extra before you go to dance.
- Change at home or at the studio and be sure you’re dressed appropriately
You don’t want to show up to ballet in your street clothes!
Hopefully these tips will help you formulate your own routine to be ready for dance. But remember this very important step, have fun! Dance is intense, but it is an amazing art form and sport. So whether this is your first year of dance classes, or you’re a seasoned professional, we hope we have helped you get back into the dance groove. Also, thank you to our dance community for sharing your ways of getting ready for dance:
