S
ummer is almost halfway over, but that doesn’t mean there isn’t time to have some dance fun. Grab a friend and get dancing with our Summer Dance Bucket List.
- Take a class outside of your comfort zone-whether it is a dance class in an unfamiliar style or a Zumba class at your local YMCA, taking a class in a new style will diversify your repertoire. Plus it can be a super fun challenge.
- Shoot your own dance video-Grab a few friends and a smartphone. Tape your own dance video either in a studio or play with being outside.
- Dance on the beach-Stretch your boundaries and dance on the beach. Leap into the water and jump in the sand-bring a camera and capture some insta worthy pictures.
- Put your playlist on shuffle and dance-Knowing how to improv is important for all dancers regardless of style. Challenge yourself by putting your playlist on shuffle and improv away. You will never know what is coming next.
- Create with someone new-Choreograph a piece with a new friend. Not only is it a nice way to start a new friendship, but also working with new people will give you new ideas.
- Teach yourself a new trick-Spend your extra free time learning a new trick or skill. Youtube is full of many tutorials. If you are working on a stunt such as a flip or an aerial, consider reaching out to a local gymnastics or acro club.
- Stage a photoshoot-Pull out your inner artist and stage a photoshoot with some friends. Grab some accessories such as chiffon fabric and flowers to jazz things up.
- Dance in the rain-Put on your rain boots, grab a rain jacket, and dance in the rain.
